After much demand, we are delighted to announce Crushes are bringing their biggest event around the country, and Nifty will be hosting the very first The Christchurch Clothes Swap! Where hundreds of people will enjoy DJ's, markets, free Picky juice, while swapping gently loved clothes. It's a fantastic day out where you can leave with what feels like a whole new wardrobe!
The Nifty store will be open from 10am - 5pm (open for business and consignment as usual), and the Crushes Clothes Swap will be based behind our store from 12pm.
We'll also have our faves, Embassy, selling their incredible coffee and matcha out the front of our store.
Here's some details from Crushes themselves, about how the Clothes Swap event works:
HOW DOES IT WORK?
- Watch this video here for more info!
- Bring up to 10 quality pieces and leave with up to 10
- You arrive and our team of volunteers check for quality*
- While we are sorting clothes on to tables like, TOPS, MEN, SIZE 16+, etc, you can shop our market, and get a discount at Crushes Karangahape
- At 1pm, we do a count down and let the swapping begin!
- Our volunteers make sure no-one exceeds 10 when they leave
- Anything remaining at the end of the day will be donated to Dress For Success
DETAILS:
- SAT, NOV 22nd at the carpark of Nifty, 306 Cashel Street
- We open at 12pm for you to do an early drop off, shop our Crushes market stall and at Nifty (our favourites!!) and we will be swapping bang on 1pm. Please drop off your clothes no later than 12:40 so we have time to check your quality.
- Tickets are cheapest here and now, and it'll be $15 on the door.
*WHAT COUNTS AS QUALITY?
- Any brand is accepted! But we do ask that you don't give less-desirable pieces and expect anything better. A clothes swap is as good as what each person donates.
- We are wanting great condition. No marks, broken zips, smell, pilled-woolies, etc. This process ensures a great selection of clothes for you on the day, and for the opshop who gets anything left over at the end. It also reminds us that we are custodians for our clothes while we have them - let's keep them in circulation and look after them!
PLEASE NOTE:
- You cannot bring jewellery, shoes, bags or accessories.
- Want to volunteer? thank you! Click here
- We won't have private changing rooms, so we suggest to wear bike shorts
- This is a plastic-free event so be sure to bring your own bags
- Remember, be generous! If everyone brings quality pieces, then we all will have a great selection to choose from. We like to say "Bring good clothes to make a good clothes swap"
- There are limited tickets at the Christchurch event, so get in quick!
