Vendor Application

    Sell With Us

Got vintage or pre-loved clothing you’re ready to part with? Bring it into our Cashel Street store, and we will take care of the rest, finding it a new home with someone who will love it just as much as you did.

    Here's how it works:

    1. Drop Off Your Items
Bring your clothing into our store. No appointment needed, just pop in during opening hours.

    2. We Prep Your Pieces
Once processed, your items will hit the racks within 2-3 weeks. We will notify you by email when they are officially up for sale.

If it is your first time selling with us, you will receive an invitation to create an online account.

    3. We Price for You
Our team will price your items based on brand, condition, age, quality, and demand. You don’t need to worry about a thing.

You will be able to check pricing and manage your items by checking your online Nifty account.

    4. Selling Period
Your items will stay in store for up to 6 weeks. If an item has not sold after 5 weeks, we willy apply a discount for the final week to help them find a home.

    5. Unsold Items
After 6 weeks, any unsold items will be donated to the Christchurch City Mission, unless you collect them beforehand.

Want your unsold pieces back? Just come in before the 6-week period ends, find your items on the shop floor, and bring them to the counter with your photo ID. Please allow 20–30 minutes for this process.

    6. Getting Paid
When your items sell, you receive 50% of the final sale price (GST exclusive price).

For balances under $150, visit us in-store to collect your payment—choose cash, have it paid onto your card, or use it as store credit.

$150 or more, you’ll need to request a bank transfer by emailing hi@niftymarkets.co.nz. Transfers are processed weekly.

    Selling Guidelines

    • At Nifty, we sell vintage and thoughtfully selected pre-loved clothing. We look for pieces that will resonate with our community and stand the test of time for their next owner.

We especially love items that are:

      • Vintage or retro
      • Timeless and classic
      • Trendy styles
      • High-quality basics
      • Well-made and in great condition

Please make sure all clothing is freshly laundered and neatly folded.

We want the experience to be easy and pleasant for everyone, and your effort helps a lot!

If you're unsure whether your items are suitable, feel free to give us a call, or better yet, pop into the store. We’d love to have a chat and answer any questions.

    • To maintain our quality and sustainability standards, we do not accept clothing from the following brands:

Boohoo, Cider, Cotton On, Decjuba, Dotti, Fashion Nova, Ghanda, Glassons, Hallensteins, H&M, Kmart/ANKO, Mirrou, Missguided, Monki, Nasty Gal, New Look, Pagani, Postie+, Pretty Little Thing, SHEIN, Tarocash, The Warehouse (Garage), Whistle, yd., Zaful

Note: We will consider vintage items (20+ years old) from Glassons, Pagani, and Hallensteins.

      Styles we generally don’t accept:

      • Bodysuits, unless they’re brand new with tags
      • Pyjamas, unless they’re vintage Victoria’s Secret—then we’ll probably swoon
      • Skinny Jeans (we’re keeping things current)
    • What to Bring

Ready to sell with us? Here’s what you’ll need to bring to our Cashel Street store:

      • Your current photo ID (must be government-issued, such as a passport, driver’s licence, Kiwi Access card, or R18 card)
      • At least 3 items of clean, good-quality clothing (We recommend bringing a few extras, in case some items aren’t suitable for consignment.)
      • Your contact details: We’ll need your email address, current home address, and phone number to get you set up in our system.

A member of the Nifty team will review your clothing on the spot and let you know which ones we can sell on your behalf.

      First Time Selling?

If it’s your first time consigning with us, please allow around 30 minutes. We’ll walk you through the process, explain how selling works, and make sure you’re fully clued up after we look through your clothing.

      When to Bring Your Items

You can drop off your clothing during our regular opening hours, no appointment needed.

Note: On event days (like markets), we can't accept consignment. These days can get extra busy, and we want to make sure all our consignors receive the time and attention they deserve. You can find the latest updates on markets here.

    Our Markets:

Nifty Markets are our seasonal pop-up events, held in the carpark behind the store during the warmer months. Expect racks of vintage and pre-loved fashion, local vendors from around the country, and plenty of great vibes (plus coffee to keep you going).

They run every couple of months during the warmer seasons, so keep an eye on our socials or sign up to our newsletter for first dibs on dates. Come along, bring your mates, and hunt for treasures you won’t find anywhere else!

For more information on how to apply, see market vendor information detailed below.

    Upcoming Spring dates TBA.

    Market Vendor Information

    • Before we were a consignment store, we were a market!

Nifty used to be named 'The Nifty Markets', when we started as a monthly market in 2018.Now that we have our own store, we hold our markets behind the building in the warmer months.

Our Nifty flea market is held every 2-3 months, and we announce upcoming dates on our social media channels and via our EDM.

    • Nifty is a sustainably themed market, we largely focus on pre-loved/vintage clothing sellers, but do leave aside a few spaces each market, for vendors who sell locally made goods.

All items sold at our flea market must fit at least one part of the following sustainability criteria:

      - Items are secondhand or vintage

      - Items are handmade

      - Items are locally made

      - Items are not locally made but have a clear supply chain of ethical production that you can provide information on

    • The Nifty Markets are known as a go-to market for awesome second-hand fashion in Ōtautahi, and we're committed to keeping it that way!

We check through applications to make sure the stuff vendors are bringing alligns what our Nifty crowd are looking for, so everyone at our markets – stallholders and shoppers alike – have a good time and never leave disappointed.
